Permission To Practice
What is the kindest thing you’ve done for yourself lately?
For me, it’s giving myself permission to practice.
As much as I wish I was releasing my tracks yesterday, having the patience to say to myself “It’s OK to practice some more” has been freeing.
It’s OK to take more time.
It’s OK that I didn’t start out making epic beats out of nowhere.
It’s OK that I studied “vocals” and not “songwriting” and have some catching up to do.
It’s OK that it took a while to know what kind of music I wanted to make in the first place.
It’s OK that it takes time to figure out how this whole producing thing works.
It’s OK to be learning and sharing the process.
It’s all just freaking OK.
